The counterfeiting of traditional artworks continues to pose a significant threat to the authenticity and ownership rights of local artists, particularly in cultural events such as Grebeg Suro Ponorogo. This study aims to design an authentication system for traditional paintings by leveraging Non-Fungible Token (NFT) technology as a solution to guarantee authenticity and ownership. The research employs a system development approach based on the Ethereum blockchain, where each artwork is digitally represented as a unique NFT. A prototype was developed and tested by registering 20 Grebeg Suro paintings and involving 25 respondents, consisting of artists and art collectors. The results indicate that the system demonstrates high usability (90%), strong data security (85%), and was considered effective in reducing the risk of forgery (88%). The implementation of NFT-based authentication proved to be a viable digital alternative to protect copyright and foster trust among artists and collectors. Furthermore, this system can serve as a model for the future development of digital authentication for other forms of traditional Indonesian art.

INTISARI
